the babies were near perfect the full 12 hour drive, each way. i must admit to giving my ten month old a licorice in a weak moment. weighing the risks in my mind, i figured sugar beat removing her from her car seat. people said i would be more lenient with my second child. ha! madelyn didn't have a drop of sugar until she was well over a year and a half old. (i remember working really hard to make a sugar free first birthday cake, which was easy, until the frosting, where i had to get really creative, and then of course as any parent eagerly anticipating the first birthday cake moment knows, the baby doesn't eat any cake anyway.) poor olivia got stuffed with red vines (okay okay, i gave her two.) at ten months. let me move on before the mother guilt starts eating me up again. to compensate, i better not allow any more sugar until her 3rd birthday!
the wedding was gorgeous. just gorgeous. my parents know how to throw a party! this was the [second] most fun, gorgeous, awesome wedding i've ever been to. the food was great, the setting was gorgeous, the music awesome, everyone looked beautiful, and we had so much fun. my dad stole the show as a guest bassist for the band. he rocked it out while we all danced. the wedding made up for the shopping, which i must say was lacking. i didn't know there could exist a mall without even a gap. we were pretty busy with the wedding and i found a little shopping but i think cj and i both came home from our vacation wanting a vacation. but. it was so fun to see the fam! and of course mv put us up in a posh villa and treated us to lots of dinners. (lots of mexican food, actually. oh, the irony.) candice was so happy and she and coby were really cute together. he was very sweet to her. his family was really laid back and they were fun to get to know. i can see good times ahead for all of us.
i get super lazy on my vacations and never take any pictures. (which i swear will change as soon as i get a camera upgrade.) i packed both of my cameras and took not a one. my sister nicole took tons of pictures though. i kind of took over her memory card- take a pic of this! get that! over here! as soon as she gets here i will post pics from her camera. just trust me, it was gaw-geous. the whole day the words from this song were running through my head. it is a beautiful song, one of our wedding songs that.i.love. it's called 'divide me', by Kalai. this is the verse i couldn't get out of my head:

And everybody’s looking their very best
Remembering times when they were just like this…
i was so happy to share the wedding day with my little sister. we had mani-pedis with just the sissies, then dropped her to get her hair 'did. i helped her step into and button her wedding dress. she looked so beautiful, and so happy. i love that girl. i hope she finds the happiness she has dreamed of and always deserved.
i was extra emotional all day and enjoyed a wedding dance with my own sweetheart. so much has changed since our first dance. this time we danced with our two little girls in our arms. i love you my christian. i love love love you. and our two perfect girls. love. love. love. *thank you heavenly father.* it was so fun to remember the times when we were the beautiful bride and the handsome groom looking forward to our life together. and it just keeps getting better.
