every momma crow thinks hers is the blackest

i had fun in el paso with the girls. mady stayed here with her dad and they had lots of fun without me. i was happy to go, happy to be shopping, and happiest to come back home. christian said he didn't eat a real meal the whole time i was gone. just chips and soda. hopefully he managed to feed mj. olivia was so good, it was almost embarrassing. i don't think she cried the whole trip. she actually managed to miss one meal though, and you can see that that was a first. anyone in the vicinity will ooooh and ahhhh over her chunky thighs during her diaper changes.



I have almost officially banished the baby bjorn (front backpack-ish carrier) from el paso, due to unwanted attention from strangers. It is hard enough to get through the mall in the time i have, let alone with people stopping me every ten seconds "oh, que bonita su bebe! oy! que hermosa! mira, los ojos! mira! ohhhhhh!" I think she may be the first blue eyed baby anyone has ever seen in El Paso. At least you would think so if you heard them. They gather around in a crowd, calling their friends, spouses and other strangers to come see her. Mira! Mira! (look! look!) los ojos! (the eyes!) que preciosa! (how precious!) It ends up being a blessing when she finally goes to sleep in the stroller. That doesn't stop the comments, but they do slow way down. I can at least get my shopping done. It's borderline annoying. (Yet awesome, of course.)

cj! for his resourcefulness in entertaining mady while occupying the big screen so he could play xbox while i was in el paso- hopefully those two had lots of daddy daughter time too, i mean really. the xbox desperation he must have felt to resort to this!

madelyn has not removed the pink robe since i bought it for her this weekend. it's officially a hit!
later that morning, mady gets dolled up, baby olivia gets to wear pajamas all day. it's part of the deal, being a baby. another perk. is it me, or does mj really look like ME here?

single-handedly sabotaging my post-baby body comeback, the necco valentines hearts. i am so lucky i live far far away from a store that has these things. i'm safe for at least another month.
