there are just some days so awesome there aren't words enough to explain. let me tell you people, today is one of those days. i will do my best to put into words how i feel, in two words: anniversary sale. i have now come to terms with my shallowness, but i am also very well rounded, thank you. i love fashionworld very much (too much, cj would say,) but there are lots of other things in my life that bring me joy too. like dressing my kids. just kidding. lots of other things. but today, shallowness is paramount. it is the first day of the nordstrom annual anniversary sale. in past years, i have woken up early and braved the crowds to fight over sunglasses, my fave designer denim and other fab finds for the three girls j. but today i find myself at least a 5 hour drive from my-true-love-nordies, but i have had a wonderful day after all. i still got up early to shop the sale, but this time it was just me and the puter. no divanistas to fight over the awesomeness with, no p-town fashion show. just me and the internet, in between cooking crepes and enjoying bites of crepes and peaches and cream. heavenly. then i met up with my best girls for a pool day, which was fab as usual. (especially since i figured out that if you get your hair
wet, it is much more refreshing and fun than getting in just up to the shoulders, plus then you don't care about splashing and it is very much worth a blowout redo.) i came home and found that my h.h. had assigned THE dreaded task to the yardman, and so not only was the job done, but i didn't have to do it. (yea!) and the task, you ask? (ha ha love the rhyme? i am a poet right?) THE dreaded task was emptying out what must be three hundred year old bottled fruit from these awesome antique 2 quart jars that you can't buy anymore but you can bum them off some kind people in town moving away and then let them sit on your porch for a month because you can't imagine what three hundred year old bottled fruit (ok, ten, but still very stinky)must smell like, so you don't do it.
and it gets better. cj slaps me with some pesos and i hit up the taco stand for lunch. and those tacos just taste like oh. wow. there are some props to living in mexico. it's a charmed life ya know?
so i'm back to nordstrom.com during naptime to finalize my cart. gotta get that, nope, gotta get the total down, that's a mortgage, gotta save that for later. must.have.that.now.
don't tell cj, i think i'm in heaven. the online cart is almost as good as the real thing.
but you better bet that next year i'm going to be swimming at nordstrom. and i'll be getting my hair wet, but i'm staying in the shallow end.
shallow.
the end.

you are such a talented writer, i am endlessly amazed. Glamour should hire you to write articles, honestly I'd rather read your blog than their magazine. Love you fabulous sissie!
Is that suit you had on last Friday a JUICY? I am bidding on one of their swimdresses right now!
